Centre for Family Initiatives (CFI)
Centre for Family Initiatives extends Pine River’s knowledge and experience to serve not just our most acute populations but to work with families and care providers to support mental wellness and prevent the need for more intensive interventions. By helping families understand more about mental health, child and adolescent development and how to support their child in a way that fosters connection and maturity, we believe we can ease problematic symptoms and behaviours and the negative effects they can have on our children and their loved ones.

Parenting can be difficult at the best of times and this is even more true during and post pandemic. If anything, this time has shown us all how necessary it is to educate and empower families to take a more active role in supporting not just their child’s mental health but also their own. By providing more learning without stigma or judgement we are focused on working to alleviate the feelings of helplessness that can come with having a child who is struggling. Together, we can make sure our kids have the best outcomes possible.

We are offering monthly public webinars, series of webinars for partnering schools and organizations, podcasts, Masterclass series and training for clinicians working with families (coming soon).
