This program meets CRPO standards for clinical supervisors. It has been structured to provide and reinforce the skills, responsibilities and clinical practice of Gestalt psychotherapy while meeting the standards, thinking and attitudes of supervision across the spectrum of general supervision practice.
Upon completion of this 30-hour program participants will be able to:
Ensure the legal and ethical guidelines of all parties are met during the ongoing relationship
Structure two-way developmental feedback between the supervisee and the supervisor
Establish clarity of the supervisor’s role in providing supervision versus therapy
Develop the KSAO’s of supervisees, trained in embodied relational Gestalt practice
Recognize and acknowledge the importance of cultural competence in the supervisor relationship
Understand legal and ethical limitations of technology
Explain the fundamentals of structuring the initial, ongoing and conclusion of sessions
Use the supervisor role to maintain critical reflection at both a theoretical and practical level
Contract with supervisees, to plan a structured approach to co-create the relationship within the field perspective of Gestalt therapy
The program is experiential in approach, and an important aspect of the program is peer support and community for participants. Included in five of the seminars will be live supervision sessions and peer case reviews.
Participants in the program must meet CRPO (or other College) practice requirements for clinical supervision.
