Event Description

The Oasis in Kanata is pleased to offer safeTALK, a very popular and practical workshop, for the community (minimum age 15), that prepares participants to identify and engage people with thoughts of suicide and connect them with further help and care.

The workshop will be held on Saturday, April 16, from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm, at Glen Cairn United Church, 140 Abbeyhill Drive, and is presented by the Canadian Mental Health Association.

The cost is $10, payable on the day of the workshop. If paying by cheque, please make the cheque payable to "Glen Cairn United Church" with "safeTALK workshop" written on the Memo line. The Oasis in Kanata is committed to providing barrier-free information and support for caregivers and families of loved ones with a mental illness. If the fee for this program is a barrier to participating, call 613-435-1100 and leave your name, telephone number, and a brief message for our Program Manager.
