The Canadian Mental Health Association, York Region Branch (CMHA)
We help people learn how to maintain their mental health, look for and identify the signs of mental illness, and get help and support when they need it.

Our programs include:

* Adults & Seniors - Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) is designed to provide comprehensive, community-based psychiatric treatment, rehabilitation and support to people with serious and persistent mental illness.

* Youth - Education and awareness leads to prevention and early identification. While not all youth will develop psychosis, many will experience serious mental health challenges.

* Family & Friends - Families, caregivers, and friends who support someone with a mental illness are also impacted by that illness.

* Community Education - We know that mental illness does not discriminate. 1 in 5 Canadians, of all ages, genders, sexual orientation, ethnicity, income and ability, will experience a mental illness in their lifetime.
