She has post-graduate training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (TF-CBT) and Motivational Interviewing. As someone who loves learning, she is currently pursuing additional skills training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Jessica has a background working with youth, post-secondary students, and adults in counselling and crisis intervention settings. Through this, she has gained insight into the holistic impact that different stressors can have on her clients’ wellbeing. She is passionate about being present for others when they feel vulnerable as well as empowering them to further develop their capacity for self-compassion and resilience.
As a therapist, Jessica’s style is down-to-earth, collaborative, and non-judgemental. She strives to individually tailor her approach to meet the needs of the person sitting across from her. By walking through the therapeutic process together, she hopes to support her clients in understanding and working towards their unique goals.
Jessica is originally from Southwestern Ontario but has lived and travelled extensively in Asia and Europe. She loves exploring different cultures and is constantly on a journey to gain new experiences. In her spare time, she can often be found camping, attempting a new sewing project, or curled up with a cat on her lap and her nose in a book.
