Kaska Project through Kaska Tribal Council, Health and Social Programs
We offer a comprehensive community healing program. This project it a multi-year program designed and operated by the Liard Aboriginal Women's Society with primary funding from the Aboriginal Healing Foundation. The project is administered in Watson Lake and provides services to Kaska communities in the Yukon and Northern BC. One component of the project is Community Development/Outreach Training. This program offers peer-based support for survivors and provides a grass-roots link between each of the Kaska Communities and the healing services offered through the Family Psychotherapy Program. The program uses a variety of methods including basic group and individual counselling, referrals, support groups and community education including pathways to sobriety within Kaska communities.
