Event Description

Applying the Gestalt approach within your own therapy practice

This seminar is an introduction to some of the unique and refreshing approaches within Gestalt therapy that can enhance any therapy practice. Many practitioners owe a debt to Gestalt therapy for its contributions to experiential work such as Hot Seat, but in recent years several exciting turns have brought Gestalt into new realms of efficacy for the clinical practitioner. Through experiential hands-on supervised work, participants will experience:

What is meant by embodied presence
How to use my self as a key to knowing my client’s form of contact and communication
How to create interventions that create a shift in perspective leading to change
How to use the “right side brain awareness” to access creativity within the session
How to access the here and now with self and other

This workshop is designed for professionals who wish to enhance their practice and their own personal development within their practice through the inclusion of some of the more powerful contributions of contemporary Gestalt.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, you will be able to:
Describe the experience of including yourself in the process of co-creating interventions that have lasting impact
Identify the power of being present centered and aware even when your client is talking about the past
