Event Description

Mental Health First Aid Canada is help for a person experiencing a mental health problem or crisis. Just like physical first aid, the goal is to offer a person immediate assistance until they can receive appropriate professional treatment or until the crisis is over. MHFA Canada is an evidence based program of The Mental Health Commission of Canada. This 12 hour interactive course is for anyone, no previous mental health experience is necessary. It can benefit teachers, health care professionals, emergency service workers, human resources and the public. Successful participants will be awarded a certificate. This is a small, comfortable course with an experienced and trusted instructor, accredited by the Mental Health Commission of Canada. The 12 hour course takes place over two consecutive Saturdays, Saturday June 11 and Saturday June 18, 6 hours of class time each day. Course location is a cottage like retreat in the city. *Student fee is available.
